3. Map Value Chain & Pre‑Assessment

What is this step?

Bring all stakeholders and value chain entities into EXO.G, connect them to ESG topics, and start the pre-assessment that feeds materiality later.

How you do it

  1. Map stakeholders and entities
    • Add suppliers, partners, distributors, customers, investors, regulators.
    • Classify by role (upstream, own operations, downstream) and risk relevance.
  2. Link entities to ESG topics
    • Identify where each entity influences emissions, social impact, governance.
    • Tag dependencies (critical supplier, high-risk market, etc.).
  3. Kick off roadmap context
    • Use the roadmap board to log early tasks (e.g., “Collect supplier emissions”, “Schedule stakeholder interviews”).
  4. Run the pre-assessment
    • Invite key stakeholders to score preliminary material topics.
    • Capture qualitative notes per topic/entity for later AI reasoning.

Why it matters

  • Creates a single source of truth for who you depend on and who depends on you.
  • Pre-assessment notes speed up the formal materiality workshop.
  • Roadmap tasks keep the workflow tangible for cross-functional teams.

Main outputs

  • Stakeholder + value chain directory with classifications.
  • Early roadmap entries tied to entities and topics.
  • Pre-assessment scores + qualitative notes ready for the next step.
